Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
This week the challenge is
Back To School
The stores are full of back to school stationary but a notebook, diary or even a bookmark is so much nicer when it is handmade with love! Why not make a little card to pop into a child's lunchbox too. So many things that we can make! We will be looking forward to seeing what you decide to create!
We are showcasing some fabulous Penny Black Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used!
The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a FABULOUS $50 voucher to shop at the Simon Says Stamp Store! All you have to do is take out your crafty supplies, make something following this week’s prompt, and add a link in the Inlinkz at the bottom of this post! You can join 5 times so you could have 5 chances to win! How AWESOME is that!! All winners are chosen randomly, so everyone has an equal chance to win! Woo Hoo!! Good Luck to everyone! The Design Team is looking forward to seeing your school related makes and will pop around to visit you ASAP!
Here is my card for the challenge inspiration. I used Wood Floors Dies from Penny Black.
I started by stamping and coloring School Friends set using my copic markers and then I cut the images using School Friends Coordinating Dies.
Next, I cut Wood Floors Dies out of white Bristol paper, then I colored the pieces using brown colors of distress inks & copic markers ( E37-E34-E31-E50) .
For the background, I ink blended 4×5.25 inch bristol paper using Distress Oxide ink Cracked Pistachio and some light blue dye inks. Then I stamped sentiments from School Bus Messages.
As a final step, I adhered floors onto the background, then I foam mounted School Friends images on it. I finished off the card by adding some Sparkling Clear Sequins.

Simon Says Stamp!
So so fun, Marge! I have the same wood floor die and I have gotten it for the same set from PPP, so when I saw this card, I was like dang, we both think so much alike! I love the whole scene you have on the card. It is 2d but looks so so 3d. The coloring is insanely beautiful and the apples falling in the scene, everything so thought out and cute! I am going to case this idea soon and give you the credit. I love this stamp set so so much I am itching to use it again in the next couple of weeks when I have time (any time at all!) on my hands. Have a lovely day, friend! xx Ankita

ReplyDeleteI just realized that I didn’t finish checking out my fellow DT’s projects last week!! What is wrong with me?!!? I guess the 1st week of school was all my brain could handle... Anyways... this is the CUTEST card, Marge!! I immediately had to check out that floor die. I’ve never seen that before but I love it!! And those adorable kids are colored so beautifully colored. This whole design is so fun and well thought out. I love it.
