To Bee or Not To Bee Blog Hop featuring Bee Friends Set from PPP

Hi, friends!
Today, I'm going to share a special card celebrating the World Bee Day. Did you know that today (May 20th) is the World Bee Day? Frankly speaking, I didn't. But, I happened to learn about bioecological aspects of bees when I went to an insectarium with my kids a few months ago. These creatures are really amazing and they are doing a lot of works for our environment. Without them, the Earth cannot survive. You can get more information about bees on the World Bee Day website.

To save the bees, Milka Gubo is hosting this To Bee or Not To Bee Blog Hop on the World Bee Day, and I'm happily participating the hop as a sub-part of Pretty Pink Posh Blog on the hop list. You can find the full details at Here

For my card, I started by stamping Bee Friends on 80lb Neenah White Card stock using Memento Black Ink and colored them using my Copic Markers. Then I cut them all using Bee Friends Coordinating Dies

I also diecut Thankful For You Script Die out of white card stock 3 times and glued them together. I wanted to make a honeycomb where bees are freely coming in and out, and Stacked Edges 2 Dies from PPP looked perfect for my plan. I diecut Stacked Edges 2 Dies out of green cardstock and inked around the edges a little with olive and mowed green distress inks.

For background, I ink blended a piece of Bristol paper using Distress Oxide Inks: Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade. Then I splattered with white, gold, and black inks over the panel and let them dry. Next, I diecut it using the Scallop Frame Dies. I diecut 2 more frames and glued them together for more dimensional look.

Finally, I adhered my die-cuts and images using Glue, Foam adhesives, and Glue Dots, added more embellishment with Sparkling Clear Sequins Mix and 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins, then finished off my card.
Copic Markers I used for Bees are E79-E77-E74-E71, Y17-Y15-Y11, and G20-Y000.

  2. AWESOME creation! This is the BEE'S KNEES HOP! My husband & I host 60 to 80 bee hives on our 5 acre place for the summer (to get them out of the heat) for a bee keeper from California after they are through pollinating the orange and nut orchards.
