wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
This week the challenge is to add some bling ie, glitter, gems etc to your creations!

Bling It On

We are showcasing Studio Katia Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used
The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a FABULOUS $50 voucher to shop at the  Simon Says Stamp Store to a lucky winner.

Here are my cards for the challenge inspiration :). I used Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frames Dies from Studio Katia

To bein the first card, I cut a piece of Bristol Paper with 4.25×5.5inch, ink blended it with Distress Oxide Inks : Abandoned Coral, Worn Lipstick, Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber and Ripe Persimmon. Next I diecut the panel with Dotted Frames Dies .

I pulled out a piece of A2 size white cardstock, and placed previous diecut frames on it to make sure that they are in right position, then I adhered the center panel as it is.

In turn, I stamped a sentiment from Birthday Borders using Versafine Onyx Black Ink, then I placed sequins, jewels and Seed beads on the center panel. To assemble a shaker, I adhered an acetate film on the back of outer frame, then I foam mounted it over the center panel carefully.

Shaker elements I used are Sparkling Clear Sequins Mix, Ballerina Pink, Strawberry BurstRaspberry, Marigold, Ivory Jewel, and Seed Beads (Sparkling Clear, Gold Shimmer, Blush, Cotton Candy, Rose Pink) .

I stamped a bundle of candles from Birthday Borders on 80lb Neenah White, colored it using copic markers and cut it using Birthday Borders Dies.

Finally, I foam mounted candles diecut onto the shaker window and adhered a silver ribbon diecut made of Simon Silver Glitter Card Stock.

My second card was made in Clean and Simple design. I cut Neenah Texture White paper using the same Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frames Dies, then I adhered the two diecuts with dimension. I love the elegant  texture surface of Neenah Texture paper set, which I can't capture 100% on my photo.

I added the same image and sentiment from Birthday Borders set, and the ribbon diecut was made of Simon Gold Glitter Card Stock. To keep our challenge theme Bling It On, I added some Metallic Gold Jewels here and there.

Which one is your favorite? :)

So now it’s YOUR turn.

  1. Hi, Marge! Both of your cards are beautiful. I love the bow of the top of each. My favorite one is the pink and yellow one just because I love these colors together. Great artwork, Marge!

  2. Oh my, the texture on the white! I love both the cards you made but I absolutely love the white one! The glitter bow looks so so pretty! :D I am seeing so many shakers this time! Have a lovely day! xx Ankita P.S. I heard the song by Cole Porter. It was so mesmerising and I also look forward to watching the movie De-Lovely when I have some time on my hands :) Thank you so much for the reference! Even my daughter enjoyed the song and she is just 2.5 years old.

  4. These are both gorgeous!! I absolutely love that die. I've had it on my wishlist for months now, I wish I would've gotten it for this challenge. You've done such a lovely job making 2 different styles of cards with the same die. Love the beautiful colors on the shaker card and the elegance of the twine and gold on 2nd card.
